The plug-in van grant should be available until April 2027.
From 6 January 2026, to be eligible for the plug-in van grant, a van must:
the battery must be warrantied against manufacturing defects and faults and exceed battery degradation within the following time/mileage periods and capacity:
Prior to 6 January 2026, category N1 vans emitting less than 50 g/km, and N2 and N3 category vehicles driven by hybrid, range extended or novel powertrains, and meeting or exceeding Euro VI emissions regulations and demonstrating significant, that is at least 50% less, CO₂ emissions savings compared against a conventionally fuelled equivalent vehicle qualified for the plug-in van grant. Any legitimate order of a hybrid or range extended van placed on the grant portal by 5 January 2026 will be honoured.
